Guys:

They were uploaded on the site, but it seems something out of my control changed in my absence.

I'll dust it off and get some new photos up in a bit.

I have returned from a year long hiatus from 400 scale hangar...off to see what has changed!

Thanks Frank.

So here is the diorama. Some of you might recognize a couple photos from the issue last year, but the black and white was taken today. The building with the tower is the 1937 "Administration Building" (Terminal) and the small house to the right is the original 1929 terminal.

The classic shot of a Western DC-6 and a United DC-3 (standing in for Pacific Air Line...ought to get out the decal sheet) sometime in the late 40s.

A view on a different day taken looking NW. After the war, a good amount of DC-3s of various types were stored out on the grass. San Bruno Mountain (1,319 ft) looms in the distance. Only thing missing is "South San Francisco The Industrial City" on Sign Hill (SFO is located about 13 miles south of San Francisco).

From right to left: 1927 Hangar 1. Hangars 2, 3, and 4 used by Southwest Airways, Western Air Lines, and TWA. Always a hive of activity...one day that BEA DC-3 will be repainted...one day..

Finally, a view of the diorama and environs...the little airport corner with some goodies from the real airport. In fact, I brought over the 1937 terminal to work last summer...photo to follow.

Thanks guys!

One day last summer I brought over the terminal to SFO (summer intern)...I guess it was a bit beat up then by the journey, but fixed it back home.
