    Robertjon's Military Collection + Additions

well guys at long last I finally got round to displaying my phantom + V bomber collection and taking pics! had a custom made cabinet done so I can finally display them all! :| :| :| measures 165cm tall. 137cm wide. and 30cm deep! ENJOY!!

    WHOLE COLLECTION

V BOMBERS 1/72. 3 VULCANS. MIDDLE ONE HAS ADDED LIGHTS.

1/32 PHANTOMS. just need 1 more.

    1/48 PHANTOM KITS

    1/72 PHANTOMS. 20 KITS + 10 GEMINI DIE CAST. INCL. 5 CODE 3s.

    1/72 HOBBYMASTER/GEMINI DIE CAST PHANTOMS. AND A FEW 1/72 WW2 KITS.

    AND SOME MORE PICS.

As you see there is a slight bow in the shelves as they are so long. but I will be putting some 3 inch spacers behind the models to keep them straight. plus also adding 3 more shelves above my laptop. so I can fit 12 more 1/72 phantoms. or more 1/48s or something else etc.

will also add any new additions here and post some individual pics of my favourites.

I'm not one who's usually interested in military aviation (Asides from what the movie Top Gun has shown me, that is) but I cannot deny the sheer overpowering beauty of your collection haha, looks very nice!

thanks Matt. up until about 4 years ago I had collected commercial planes. mostly 1/200, but some larger 1/100 too. but changed as I felt commercial aviation had got boring. full of barrel tubed airbuses and 777s. I am 62 now and gone are the days of the old classics CONNIES, BRITANNIA, VC 10s, VANGUARDS etc. the 'golden age' of aviation. sadly now gone. now even the 4 holers are all but gone too now. or will be soon.

I don't have glass doors on my shelves either. Sometimes I use a air can and other times a cotton cloth. I find it hard to put them back in sequence at times, haha I know they fit before but they don't now.

Well Robert, I told my self years back when I worked for Aviation World that I will stick to modern day military. I don't have any RCAF prop planes either but seeing those two beauties I am considering to venture into collecting some WWII planes. I have never seen a Stirling model before, its quite stunning. Also I was unaware that the RAF had B-17's.

The missing B.707s still needed to be done: Uganda Airlines, TMA of Lebanon (with correct Lemon colour tail)

DC-8s still needed to be done: UAT, Iberia ('80s scheme), Air Ceylon, Air Spain, Seaboard World (-63)

Caravelles still needed to be made: Iberia (delivery scheme), Luxair, Sabena (final 'S' logo scheme}, SAS 'SCANDINAVIAN' late '60s scheme; Libyan Arab Airlines

as they say, you learn something new everyday Paresh. a couple of pics of the 1/72 stirling.

and a few of the B-17. awesome model this and my favourite. guy who built this had been modelling for 50 years!!! CORGI have released nearly 20 b-17s, yet only ONE RAF COASTAL COMMAND. never fathom that out. plus nearly all ww2 heavies are 100+ now. but all these ready built kits off ebay kits cost under 30 apart from B-17. so nearly got 5 built kit models for price of 1 die-cast. there are always popping up on ebay.
