Airfix (MPC) C-9B Skytrain II USMC

Built this more or less OOB, only additions were antenna and fin cap extension.

The kit is the MPC boxing of the Airfix DC-9 using USMC decals from Draw Decal.

Very interesting subject and nice looking model. I've never seen one of these in person, do you have a personal connection?

One of these days when I'm really retired I'll pull out the C-141B kit that's been sitting in my closet for many years and get to work too!

I seen this aircraft a few times at EWR when they flew the Marine Corps band up from North Carolina. Very nice job you did on the paint scheme.

Very nice work. Aren't a small handful of these still in service with the US military?

No personal connection, though while in was in the Air Force I served in our VIP squadron and got interested in airliners in military markings. So over time, I have built a few models of various military operated airliners. Still got plenty to do...

Ah very nice! My interest in these type of aircraft stem from a similar background. When I was in the Air Force, I worked for a few years in the organization that procured and modernized the USAF's large aircraft fleet (transporters/tankers/VIP aircraft).

    That A340 looks really nice!
