Is that white top AA DC-10 a lease or did they experiment with a new scheme? Both look sharp.

If I remember correctly, These came from Western Airlines. Unknown if it was a lease or a purchase.

After all these years, and seeing hundreds, maybe thousands of AA DC-10 photos, this is the 1st white top I can remember seeing. From Western makes sense. I found one photo of N912WA. Top half AA over white. Proof you are 100% correct. White tops are from Western.

Can't say I've ever seen the Lockheed L-1011 assembly before, lots of Boeing, Douglas and Airbus.

Thanks for posting Sal, beautiful aircraft and like Dave said, zero hour planes.......awesome.

    Thanks Guys

The Comet arrives at 412 Sqd in 1953 at Uplands

A de Havilland Comet on display at Ottawa's Uplands airport on May 29, 1953 -- possibly the first modern jetliner to see actual service in Canada.

This Comet was the first of two ordered by the RCAF. It was flown for several months, but withdrawn from service in 1954 after a series of crashes of Comets in commercial service.

The first Comet purchased by Canadian Pacific, for example, had already crashed in Karachi in March of 1953 on a delivery flight. Trans Canada Airlines (now Air Canada) never ordered any Comets, so far as I know, and successful jet travel in Canada had to wait for the arrival of the DC-8.
