    Anisette is a good drink!
The DC-8 is the best commercial supersonic aircraft ever built!
OK, so it was only one flight, for a short time, and in a shallow dive. It still counts!

Why do all the colourful airlines go out of business!? Braniff, Western Pacific..... At least Alaska has some great special liveries.

Here's the last of my scanned old pics. Wish I'd taken some more...

The Embraer Bandeirante was something new and exciting! Fairflight E110 G-BGNK, Manchester 22 August 1980

Nothing to do with The Simpsons. HS125 G-BART, Manchester 17 August 1979

    SAS DC-9 LN-BLX, Manchester 17 August 1979

Not quite fitting the frame, Wardair DC-10 C-GXRB, Manchester 27 August 1980

A rather excitingly painted Air UK HP Herald G-BCWE, Manchester 27 August 1980

Air Anglia F-27 G-BAKL, Leeds Bradford date unknown but possibly 1978. A Dan-Air HS748 departs in the background

A couple from the 1980 Farnborough air show to finish: P166 of the Alitalia Flying Schhol, I-PIAE. 6 September 1980

    A300B4 of Singapore Airlines wearing pre-delivery registration F-WNER, 6 September 1980

Yes, I think the Air UK Herald and the two shots of the BIA posted earlier are the pick of my limited collection. They just seemed to fill the viewfinder nicely

In those days I was just a lad and every press of the shutter meant expense in both film and development. Nowadays you can take a zillion photos for the price of an SD card and you can even use that again. Had digital photography been around in the seventies I would have many, many more classic shots to share.
