PHOTOS - Western Models - Lockheed Electra - Braniff International - the five..

Rather than five seperate threads.. try and get em all on the one thread.....

Thanks to Gary at ARD for putting them by.... and for sorting out a wee problem....

    Starting out with the yellow......

This seems to be the popular colour with most emporiums 'sold out'...

Thought I was going to be OK with just the green one but these pics made it obvious I need a yellow one too!

Unfortunately the green in the promo shots looked semi turquoise.....(which I was hoping it would be) Not even sure there ever was a semi turquoise electra but I think there WAS a 707......

But these shots appear to be much more accurate.....
Will wait to see what color it REALLY is when it arrives

    Smashing photos, fantastic models.
    Both set an industry standard!

That green (above) is pretty close to the model Peter...

If you are talking about the 'shop' dealer photos.. they are way out.. they are more like the 48 issue 707 that Inflight did...

    EXACTLY!!!!
And that 707 is prettiest one in the batch and they made only 48 pieces of.
....the one that DON in Anchorage has one of. The DON that I hate because HE has one!

But seeing your pics this electra is a very unique green too and is rapidly growing on me.
Plus I was just able to order a yellow one to join it.
I said I wasn't goint to order any more....
Got to save up for 2 or 3 VARIGS when they come out!

Also the one which had the most inaccurate color of the group.

The same DON that won a free POE 707 in the Buzz raffle a while back.

Oh. Maybe that's why they stopped after 48 pieces???

Well I have a decal set for those 707s and they show a turquoise one but then they don't have to mix the color. That's up to the modeler! All that's in the set is lettering...

Sorry. I was commenting on SWAHQ's comment on the 'turquoise' 707 being the most inaccurate color of that set.
At least that was how I took his comment.
