New Inflight 200 Evergreen Supertanker Pictures

Just in from Inflight 200 the Evergreen Supertanker...

The Evergreen Supertanker is a Boeing 747-200 commercial airliner that was modified into an aerial firefighting aircraft by Evergreen International Aviation. With a capacity of 24,000 US gallons (94,850 litres), the Supertanker is the largest aerial firefighting aircraft in the world, almost doubling the capacity of the next largest firefighting tanker aircraft, a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 known as Tanker 910.[1] The Supertanker entered service for the first time in 2009, fighting a fire in Cuenca, Spain. The tanker made its first American operation on August 31, 2009 at the Oak Glen Fire.

A Real Beauty!!

Really great photos Sal. Love the details on this model, for example the way the front gear strut is modelled. Must a sight to behold to see this in action.

Having had this one for a few weeks now, it has become my favourite IF200 747 in my collection... Well done IF! I too am surprised that they didn't do a regular Evergreen 747-100 as well - IF have gone for the easy-to-produce variations approach (pax and cargo versions of the same airline) and I'd have thought that the stretch to the regular Evergreen livery would have been well within them. I'd have bought it. But obviously not!

Still campaigning for the Convair 990 - we need: Ports of Call - old cols, Modern Air "Silver Palace", NASA "Galileo" (three liveries), APSA, Area Ecuador, Internord, Labanese International... Oh, and how about a US Navy Convair 880?

In typical Prestwick conditions as well (actually it's glorious here today, if somewhat cold...). Evergreens are frequent visitors to PIK. This is good as it means we get to see the Dreamlifter fairly often as it is operated by Evergreen for Boeing.

it's a nice model you have Sal. I have a "947" N470EV in 1:400 scale.
